Winnipeg Saints gained a measure of revenge in this year's version of the Red River Showdown. Staged at Winnipeg's MTS Centre, Saints recorded a 7-2 win over Selkirk Steelers before nearly 600 fans.

Steelers won the inaugural Red River Showdown last year.

Saints' veteran Brett Chartier led the winners on Saturday with four goals. Teammates Tim Hayduk, Brett Mencik and Paul Crane rounded out the scoring.

Steelers were led offensively by Colan Jackson, who netted a pair; giving him a league-leading 23 goals in 29 games.

Brent Wolfe recorded the win in the Saints' net.
