Kings' Johnson named Player of Week

Dauphin King forward Kyle Johnson scored four powerplay goals last week, earning him MJHL Player of the Week honours.
Johnson, 20, had a week all hockey players dream of: seven goals and nine points in three games for the Kings who sit fourth in the tight Sher-Wood Division with 16 wins and 34 points.

Runners-up for the MJHL Player of the Week Award were Riley Feser of Waywayseecappo Wolverines and Shane Luke of Dauphin.
Feser, 18, was all but unbeatable in the Wolverines’ net, as he turned asked 37 of 38 shots on goal in posting a 2-0 record. His near-flawless play was reflected in a sizzling 0.50 GAA and .974 save percentage.
Luke, 20, is last year’s MJHL scoring champion. Last week he didn’t score a single goal: but he racked up nine assists! Four of those assists came while the Kings held the man advantage. Luke sits atop the Kings’ scoring race with 40 points (14-26).
